{"id":2393,"date":"2019-04-16T11:22:01","date_gmt":"2019-04-16T15:22:01","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.westfield.ma.edu\/cit\/?page_id=2393"},"modified":"2020-04-30T15:39:47","modified_gmt":"2020-04-30T19:39:47","slug":"sharing-online-best-practices-showcase-2019","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.westfield.ma.edu\/cit\/resources\/sharing-online-best-practices-showcase-2019\/","title":{"rendered":"Sharing Online Best Practices Showcase"},"content":{"rendered":"\r\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">(Online, Hybrid\/Blended)<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p><strong>Call for Self-Nominations: <\/strong><\/p>\r\n<p>The CIT Exemplary Courses Advisory Group would like to invite faculty to showcase their online and hybrid\/blended courses.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>This year we will be doing a different process, which is much easier.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>Step 1 &#8211; Instructors will prepare a 5-8 \u00a0minute \u00a0Screencast-O-Matic presentation of their online and\/or hybrid\/blended course. Highlighting course presentation materials, interaction, use of tools, ease of navigation, innovative practices, discussions and techniques students respond to best.<\/p>\r\n<p>Step 2 &#8211; CIT will make a copy of their nominated course for faculty, (without student data) for demo and review purposes. Faculty can provide additional information and materials.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p><strong>Please provide the following information- in the linked form below<\/strong><\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<ul style=\"margin-left: 20px;\">\r\n<li style=\"list-style-type: disc !important;\"><em>Faculty email<\/em><\/li>\r\n<li style=\"list-style-type: disc !important;\"><em>Faculty Name and Department<\/em><\/li>\r\n<li style=\"list-style-type: disc !important;\"><em>Format &#8211; Online or Hybrid\/Blended<\/em><\/li>\r\n<li style=\"list-style-type: disc !important;\"><em>Course Name and Number<\/em><\/li>\r\n<li style=\"list-style-type: disc !important;\"><em>Number of times teaching the course<\/em><\/li>\r\n<li style=\"list-style-type: disc !important;\"><em>Course Description &#8211; Can be official or create a short paragraph about the course<\/em><\/li>\r\n<li style=\"list-style-type: disc !important;\"><em>What\u00a0 features do students really like about the course<\/em><\/li>\r\n<li style=\"list-style-type: disc !important;\"><em>Video Presentation Web link &#8211; needs be be either a Screencast-O-Matic or YouTube web link.<\/em><\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p><strong><em>Please submit the\u00a0 form by June 26, 2020<br \/><\/em><\/strong><\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/forms.gle\/tNLGocvutV5Kve4d8\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\" (opens in a new tab)\">https:\/\/forms.gle\/tNLGocvutV5Kve4d8<\/a> <br \/><br \/><\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>This\u00a0showcase\u00a0will serve as a self-nomination to be considered for the\u00a0<strong>WSU Exemplary Online, Hybrid\/Blended Courses 2020<\/strong><strong> Award. <\/strong>This year a new category has been added Rush to Remote Online Teaching.\u00a0 All showcase participants will receive a certificate.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>Five courses will be honored as the \u201c<strong>WSU Exemplary Online, Hybrid\/Blended Courses 2020<\/strong><strong>\u201d\u00a0<\/strong>for a final presentation and ceremony on\u00a0<strong>DATE TBD <\/strong>and two of those courses will be selected (one online, and one hybrid) for the Courses of Distinction Program for the campus. They will receive an award at the Massachusetts Colleges Online Conference TBA.\u00a0 CIT will sponsor their registration.<\/p>\r\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center;\">Exemplary Course Showcase<br \/>Sharing Online Best Practices<br \/>Date TBD<\/h3>\r\n<p>The instructors whose courses are selected will each receive an honorary plaque and will be added to the CIT Exemplary Course Wall of Fame.
